Vaccinations that all adults should have

William Schaffner, MD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, explains the six vaccinations that all adults should receive. They are:
- The Influenza vaccine for the “flu”
- The DPT tetanus diphtheria pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine
- The HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer, mouth/throat cancer, anal cancer, genital warts
- The Pneumococcal vaccine for pneumonia
- The Hepatitis B vaccine, particularly for insulin using diabetics
- The Shingles (herpes zoster) for 60 years old and up
He also discusses the disturbing return of polio, measles, and whooping cough
